Primary school (3-6 years)

We give children what they need for optimal development:

Movement

The child moves freely in the classroom and works with the didactic materials that support his thinking and learning. With them the child develops his ability to understand abstract ideas.

Choice

Learning and psychic wellbeing increases when the child has the feeling of having choice, in other words control over certain situations in his life. We give choices to the child and help him become responsible for them.

Interest

Child's brain chooses inputs that help him to improve. The child goes through periods of time of increased interest in certain things and actions. The teachers help him or her to fullfill his or hers potential.

Inner motivation

We support inner motivation that is independent from outer conditions. We don't use rewards or punishments but a system of objective feed back. The child creates healthy behavior patterns and has no fear of error.

Cooperation

There are children of different ages in the class and they are led to help each other. Older children learn to be great leaders and younger ones learn how to take care of themselves, others and their immediate surroundings.

Learning context

The child is exposed to a large number of stimuli and has enough time to process them. They progress from simpler activities to more complex ones so that they understand and experience success. It helps them to gain self-confidence.

Great adults

Educated and experienced educators carefully prepare the classroom so that the children prosper. They are not only dedicated to intellectual education, but also help children develop understanding and love for themselves and others.

Order

The child absorbs the external environment and forms their personality. Orderly external environment and clear behavior of adults provides them with a picture of functionning in society. The child is oriented, calm and satisfied.

Children love Montessori

and they prosper!

how we help chidren to become happy and conscious

Children around the age of three are increasingly looking for their peers in a smaller group. In the Montessori class, therefore, we have a mixed-age group, ie children from three to six years old. This system works great for all children and creates a pleasant harmony in the classroom. Younger children have older and more experienced friends who can help them and from whom they learn much more easily than from adults, simply because they are mentally closer. And older and more experienced children, instead of behaving uncontrollably, spend part of their time teaching and caring for younger members of the group. By showing them how to work with more advanced learning materials, they are consolidating their skills and also trying out what it's like to be a group leader.

According to Dr. Maria Montessori everyone has a mathematical mind. We use math daily: when we go up the stairs (we know when and how far to lift our feet), when we look at our watches, when we pay in the store etc. Children learn quantity in the math area in our primary school, assign correct numbers to thousands, do all four math operations, even the fractions. These activities aren't there to bother them or destroy their childhood. Children have a clear idea of the amount experienced both visually and by hearing them. It is not uncommon for preschoolers who are interested in mathematics to be able to divide several-digit numbers with the rest. In this sense, it is not a drill, but entertainment similar to board games.

We have completed thorough international training in Montessori pedagogy and we have prepared the environment with great care for children. The environment contains areas that develop the child's cognitive and psycho-social skills. The area of practical life offers such basic activities as carrying things, pouring grains, pouring water, activities focused on taking care of oneself, such as buttoning, tying shoelaces, blowing my nose, washing hands or cleaning shoes. This area also includes care for the surroundings. It offers activities of dusting, sweeping, washing the table, polishing mirrors, etc. Last but not least, we practice how to apologize, how to offer someone a chair or a snack, etc. The goal is for the child to gain the necessary skills and independence in everyday life.

In the field of language, children develop their vocabulary and learn to write and read. In preschool age, these activities are offered because children are looking for them. E.g. children want to be able to write at about four years of age - so we use the so-called sensitive period. It is the period when the child can learn the activity in his life most easily and best, because they shows a natural interest in it. The choice of materials is diverse and each of the prepared aids invites the child to play and supports their development in a specific way. Experienced educators are able to estimate the appropriate time to provide a demonstration to the child so that he or she can work with the tool independently of the adults and thus develop their rich inner potential.

The sensory material is created so that children can sharpen all their senses and be able to perfectly distinguish the individual categories that appear in the world around them: small - large, thick - thin, rough - smooth; noisy, noisier, noisiest, different colors, shapes and bodies, etc. These aids were developed by Dr. Maria Montessori with her colleagues and practically tested by many generations of children. By using these aids, children will improve their sensitivity to their surroundings, spatial orientation and communication skills. Children are able to express themselves more precisely and with the help of other communication lessons they learn to formulate their thoughts, wishes and needs in a clear and kind way. We support children in creating pleasant relationships.

Children have fun with our materials and learn at the same time. The materials correspond to the so-called sensitive period of the child (the period when the child wants to perform a certain activity repeatedly until his inner need to manage this activity is perfectly saturated). Children work with didactic materials that help them to orient themselves more easily in the world and to gain knowledge and experience naturally through their own experience. Every child is important to us. We non-violently help them to integrate constructively into society. We are loving, patient and we want our children to feel good. At the same time, we require adherence to meaningful rules of conduct. However, we do not use punishments or rewards, but we lead children to deal with situations based on natural consequences.
